Meteorology issues a flood warning for several municipalities due to rain associated with Hurricane Lee

He National Weather Service (SNM) issued a warning this afternoon floods urban and stream for 16 municipalities on the island, due to rains associated with the trajectory of the Hurricane Lee on its way to the north of Puerto Rico.

The municipalities that are under warning of urban flooding and small streams are:

• San Juan and Guaynabo until 5:45 pm
• Bayamon, Corozal, Naranjito, Toa Alta, Carolina, Canovanas, Loiza, Rio Grande and Trujillo Alto until 6:15 pm
• Ceiba, Humacao, Juncos, Las Piedras and Naguabo until 8:30 pm

Carlos Anselmi MolinaMeteorology meteorologist, indicated to The new day that precipitation activity could extend until 8:00 pm this Monday. However, he clarified that “everything will depend on how Lee’s career continues. It is not ruled out that the rain could extend until early morning (Tuesday).”

Hurricane Lee was located at latitude 23.5 north and longitude 63.5 west, with a movement of 8 mph. At the moment, the forecasts indicate that it could pass through the west of the Bermuda Islands.

A warning for small boat operators in Atlantic Ocean waters, the Mona Passage and the Anegada Passage remains in effect due to strong storm surge from the cyclone.
