He Americas Paralympic Committee (AmPC) announced on Saturday that the state of Guanajuato, Mexico, will host the first edition of the Paracentral American and Caribbean Games that will take place in the year 2026.
The AmPc reported that in the coming months they will work together with the Guanajuato authorities to define the logistical details, the calendar of the games and other aspects related to the organization.
According to a press release, Guanajuato was chosen “due to its commitment to the values of Paralympic sport and its ability to offer a welcoming environment to para-athletes, coaches and visitors.”
“We express our deep gratitude to Guanajuato for its enthusiasm and dedication to organizing this unparalleled event. We are sure that this election will not only benefit the sports community, but will also enrich and unite the region in a significant way,” declared Julio Cesar Avila, president of AmPC.
The Paralympic movement has the Paralympic Gameswhose next edition will be in Paris 2024 from August 28 to September 8, and the Parapan American Gameswhich will be held in Santiago, Chile, from October 20 to November 5.
