New high temperature record is recorded in San Juan with 95 degrees Fahrenheit

He National Weather Service (SNM) reported that today, Saturday, the high temperature record was broken in San Juan by reaching 95 degrees Fahrenheit (°F).

The record was recorded at the meteorological station of Luis Munoz Marin International Airport. The previous record for this day, in Puerto Rico, dates back to 2010, when 94°F was reached.

Although this is the first date that a new high temperature record is set for September 2023, the heat record was broken six times in August. During the past month, there were new marks on the 6th, 10th, 11th, 24th, 27th and 28th.

However, feelings of heat above 108°F will continue for some towns, potentially into the middle of next week. In general, Puerto Rico will have a risk of excessive heat until the end of the upcoming work week.
