Pedro Pierluisi has until Wednesday to act on a measure that restricts parole benefits

“House Bill 2106 has not yet been sent to Governor Pierluisi’s office for evaluation and signature. The governor has until Wednesday to act on it. However, although it is not his custom to advance opinions on a measure, the governor had indicated that he saw the intention of the project well,” said the governor’s spokesperson, Sheila Anglero.

Approached three weeks ago about the legislative piece, the chief executive had indicated that he welcomed the legislative intention, but that he had to study it with his advisory team. Furthermore, he then warned that he had to be “judicious,” because he also believed in the rehabilitation of convicted people.
