Police process over 30 arrest warrants for domestic violence, illegal weapons and drugs

He Police Bureau filled out 30 arrest warrants in an operation that lasted 48 hours, around the entire island, to get those accused of domestic violence, elder abuse, sale of illegal weapons and even controlled substances off the streets..

In a press release, Police Commissioner Colonel Antonio Lopez Figueroareported this Saturday that the main objective of the operation was to “prioritize” the arrests of individuals accused of engaging in different forms of domestic violence.

Currently, the Superintendence of Special Operations of the Police has made a total of 2,892 arrests, of which 124 have been identified as gunmen and 23 were on the Uniformed Most Wanted list. Likewise, 634 weapons have been seized.

In relation to the recent arrest warrants, the director of the Superintendency of Special Operations, Colonel Carlos Cruzexplained that agents from the Intelligence and Arrest divisions of the 13 police areas were deployed across countless towns.
