Puerto Rican documentary wins “Best Film” at an important festival in Argentina

“All the Flowers”the first feature film by the Puerto Rican director, Carmen Oquendo-Villar, and produced by Alejandro Angel Torres, Annabelle Mullen Pacheco and Oquendo-Villar was awarded the award ‘Best film’ in the category “International Feature Film” of the eleventh edition of Build Cinema in Buenos AiresArgentina.

The movie had its world premiere in June 2023 at the 30th version of Sheffield DocFest, the UK’s leading documentary film festival and one of the most influential in the world for documentary films.

According to the jury’s deliberation, the feature film won the top prize “for achieving a strong and loving testimony about the trans community that lives and works in Santa Fe, Bogota. The director achieves a choral documentary portrait with drama and loneliness, but also the brotherhood and solidarity that exists between them, portrayed with respect and empathy.”

The documentary presents a choral portrait of the trans community that lives and works in an iconic brothel in Bogota and presents us with the impetuous desire of the residents to live in the red light district of the Colombian capital.
