Puerto Rican Jose Miranda homers and drives in the winning run for the Twins

Houston – The Puerto Rican Jose Miranda hit a solo homer and added a run-scoring double in the eighth to help the Minnesota Twins to beat the Houston Astros 4-3.

Trevor Larnach also homered for Minnesota, which took two of three games in the weekend series. Steven Okert (2-0) got two outs to take the victory, and Dominican Jhoan Duran took charge of the ninth inning to earn his tenth save.

Miranda’s sixth home run of the season – a shot to left-center field off Hunter Brown with one out – tied the game at 3-3.

Larnach reached base by forcing a walk starting the eighth inning against Ryan Pressly (0-3). He Dominican pinch-runner Manuel Margot advanced to second on Ryan Jeffers’ sacrifice bunt, and then scored on Miranda’s grounder that went down the third base line.
