Puerto Ricans lead the Reds’ victory: Emilio Pagan wins the decision and Alexis Diaz adds his fourth saved game

CINCINNATI- The Reds bullpen was able to finish the job after starter Frankie Montas left the game in the first inning, and Cincinnati shut out the Los Angeles Angels 3-0 on Sunday to sweep the series.

Montas was hit by a Taylor Ward line drive and left the game with a bruise on his right forearm after just 16 pitches.. Brent Suter allowed four hits in 3.1 innings. Puerto Rican Emilio Pagan (2-1) took the victory after allowing one hit in two innings.

Angels starter Jose Soriano (0-3) did not allow a hit until there was one out in the sixth inning. Elly De La Cruz singled and then Nick Martini reached on Luis Rengifo’s error. Christian Encarnacion-Strand hit a double and Jeimer Candelario hit a triple to put the Reds up 3-0.
