Puerto Rico beats Anguilla 8-0 in front of a full Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium

The National soccer team did its homework on Tuesday by defeating Anguilla 8-0 in what was its biggest win in a qualifying match in the world Cup, in front of a packed Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon.

Winger Jeremy De Leon scored a pair of goals at 20′ and 51′, as did Wilfredo Rivera (48′ and 65′). The overwhelming Puerto Rican attack was completed by Roberto Ydrach (31′), Leandro Antonetti (59′), Darren Rios (71′) and Nicolas Cardona (90’+1).

With the victory, Puerto Rico rose to second place in Group F with four points (+8). First place is occupied by Suriname with six goals (+7), rival of Blue Hurricane in June of next year.

Apart from Suriname, those led by Charlie Trout still have to face Saint Vincent and the Grenadines also in 2025. If they remain in the first two places, they will advance to a final round.
