Santiago, Chile. The Women’s National Court Volleyball Team lost this Tuesday in the first round of elimination in three sets against Mexico in the continuation of the Pan American Games Santiago 2023.
Thus, the Puerto Rican squad could not advance to the semifinal round and now gives way to the Men’s National Team, which will begin its participation on October 30.
Their overall record was 1-3. The victory was in the preliminary round against Cuba.
The defeat was with partials of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14 at the Movistar Stadium and against a Mexico that beat Puerto Rico from the serve and in the net. Mexico advanced to the semifinals with the victory.
Puerto Rico suffered from ball control in the first set. Mexico was also free at times from its offensive side.
Ivania Ortiz led Puerto Rico with 15 points. He attacked 28-13. She was followed by Stephanie Rivera with six points.
