Puerto Rico qualifies four additional athletes for the Paris 2024 Olympics and the delegation increases to 38 competitors

The delegation of Puerto Rico to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games rose to 38 athletes this Tuesday with the confirmation from World Athletics of the classification of Grace Claxton, Luis Joel Castro, Gabby Scott and Rachelle de Orbeta.

The classification of the competitors was shared by the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee (COPUR) and by the head coach of the Puerto Rico Athletics Federation (Fapur)Carlos Guzman.

Claxton will compete in the 400m. This is her second Olympic qualification after being active in Rio 2016. Likewise, Castro – a high jump specialist – will be attending her second Olympic Games after making her debut in Rio.

Meanwhile, Scott (400 metres) and Orbeta (20-kilometre walk) will make their debut at a summer event in Paris.

The quartet joins the hurdler Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and to Decathlete Ayden Owens-Delerme as representatives of the sport of athletics.
