Rimas Sports, Bad Bunny’s sports agency, sues the Major League Baseball Players Association in federal court

Rima Sports, the sports agency founded by music superstar Bad Bunny along with his partners Noah Assad and Jonathan Miranda, filed a lawsuit in federal court on Thursday against the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). English).

The lawsuit was filed in San Juan.

The new day obtained access to the lawsuit in which a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction are requested against the MLBPA (acronym in English for the Players Association), on the grounds that the players’ union exceeded its authority and in violation of provisions of the National Labor Relations Act.

“For nearly two years, the MLBPA scrutinized the agency in a discriminatory, biased and predetermined investigation, all designed to put Rimas Sports out of business permanently,” Rimas said in its complaint. “From late April 2022 through February 2024, the MLBPA worked to remove Rimas Sports from the sports agency market, intentionally preventing certified agents from working with Rimas Sports in any capacity.”
