Ryan Garcia would have tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance, according to ESPN

Fighter Ryan Garcia would have tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance just the day before his surprise victory about Devin Haney, the web portal reported on Wednesday ESPN. Information that was also echoed by the renowned boxing journalist Dan Rafael.

The major American media outlet obtained a letter from the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association sent to both sides. The substance for which Garcia tested positive was described as “ostarine.”

The samples were taken before the fight, but the results were not known until later, ESPN added.

Garcia would have 10 days to request that another sample be analyzed. “Ostarine” is a chemical compound used to treat muscle loss. It is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The controversial fighter, with a record of 25-1 and 20 KO’s, reacted on social networks denying such accusation. Then, he showed the alleged cause:
