Sheriff assigned to Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s residence shoots robbery suspect

WashingtonA bailiff assigned to guard the residence of the judge of the Supreme Court of the United States, Sonia Sotomayorin Washington wounded a man who was apparently trying to steal a car in the neighborhoodauthorities reported on Tuesday.

Kentrell Flowers, 18, was shot after allegedly pointing a firearm at two marshals parked in a U.S. government vehicle early Friday morning, according to information from the DC Metropolitan Police Department cited by NBC.

The suspect was injured by a police officer. United States Marshals Service which is part of the unit that protects the residences of the judges of the highest court, the agency confirmed to the television station, without giving details.

The Supreme Court has not released information on whether Sotomayor, the only Hispanic on the court, was at home and notified of the incident.
