Shooting at a Santurce nightclub leaves five young people injured

About five people were injured by gunshots in an incident reported during the early hours of Sunday in a nightclub located on Juan Ponce de Leon Avenue in Santurce.

According to a Police report, at around 3:54 am, a call from the 9-1-1 Emergency Service revealed that The event occurred inside the establishment and as a result five young people between the ages of 19 and 25 were injured..

The injured were identified as Symae Sylest Watson, a resident of Houston, Texas, Paloma Encarnacion, a resident of Carolina, John Michael Torres and Kenneth J. Torres, both residents of Dorado, and Gregory Bandas Santiago, 22, a resident of Fajardo.

Later at 4:43 am, police arrested an individual in connection with this case near the federal prison in Buchanan.

The five injured people were transported to different hospital institutions.

The investigation of this case is being carried out by the Assaults division of the Criminal Investigation Corps in San Juan.
