Slovak Prime Minister leaves hospital after assassination attempt

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia.- The prime minister of Slovakia, the populist Robert Ficowas discharged from the hospital where he was treated after being shot several times in an attempted murder.

Fico was transferred to his home in the capital, Bratislava, where he will continue his recovery, explained on Friday Miriam Lapunikova, the director of the center located in Banska Bystrica, a city in the center of the country. Fico suffered multiple injuries after being shot in the abdomen on May 15 while greeting supporters in the town of Handlova, about 140 kilometers (85 miles) northeast of the capital.
