“Summer has not started yet, but it is already making itself felt”: high heat indices continue for Tuesday

A extreme heat warning will remain in effect for Tuesday between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, when heat indices are expected that could reach up to 112 degrees Fahrenheit (°F)indicated the National Weather Service (SNM).

Likewise, the meteorological agency maintains a heat warning and watch that will extend until tomorrow, Wednesday.

“We continue under the same pattern. The flow of southeasterly winds will continue to bring warmer air across the region, and that combines with completely clear skies and allows the sun to warm the surface and let us see Heat indices within 108°F to 112°F, even slightly higher across coastal and urban sectors islandwide”he explained Lee Ann EnglishSNM meteorologist, in San Juan.

We have a heat watch that will persist into tomorrow, when we expect fairly similar conditions across northern, northwestern and southern sectors of the island, which could be seeing the highest heat indices during the day”he added.
