Sometimes, the rest Nighttime can be a complicated experience when sharing a bed. Sleeping in separate rooms can be the best solution to the problem of poor sleep.

Although calling it a divorce seems exaggerated – we could rather consider it a “temporary nocturnal cessation of coexistence” -, this is how the custom adopted by some couples of sleeping in beds or even in separate rooms is beginning to be known: sleep divorce

Actually, the idea is not entirely new. It seems that the upper classes, those who could afford to have a bedroom for each member of the couple, already practiced it in past times.

However, Over the last few decades, sharing a bed and sleep has been considered a sign of intimacy and a sign that the couple’s relationship is in good health. Sleeping as a couple, as long as it does not imply a deterioration in sleep quality, can have benefits on the psychological and physical well-being of bed partners.
