The driver who collided with a workers’ bus and caused eight deaths in Florida is arrested

Miami— Highway Patrol Florida arrested the driver of a pickup truck that crashed into a bus of agricultural workers this Tuesday, killing eight and leaving at least eight others seriously injured, on charges of involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Bryan Maclean Howardwho was driving a Ford truck that crashed sideways into the bus carrying 53 farm workers, some of them Mexican, was charged with eight counts of involuntary manslaughter, the FHP said in a statement.

The spokesperson for the Mexican Consulate in Orlando told EFE that they are already in the area and that there will soon be updated information on the accident, which involves nationals of that country.

About 53 workers were traveling in a 2010 bus on the main highway in Marion County, in northern Florida, heading to Cannon Farms, which specializes in growing watermelons.
