The Hatillo Livestock They achieved their historic pass to the postseason, in their first year of National Women’s Superior Basketball (BSNF) by defeating the Patriotas de Lares 85-82 this Tuesday.
Hatillo reached the pass with a free throw from Adrienne Godbold with only eight seconds left in the game.
The trio of imports from the Ganaderas led the team’s offensive. Godbold added 29 points, Dariauna Lewis followed with 26 and 18 rebounds, while Jaelynn Penn added 20 points.
In a losing cause, Da’Nasia Hood scored 22 points with 14 boards for Lares, which ended its participation in the 2023 season with a 1-15 record.
In the first half, the Ganaderas dominated the score 27-17. For the second period, the Patriots managed a 25-19 rally to get within 46-42 before halftime.
On the other hand, the Santurce Cangrejeras defeated the Morovis Montaneras 57-52 at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum.
For Santurce, the best of the night was rookie Nairimar Vargas with 18 points and was followed by Brianna Jones with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Captain Pamela Rosado scored 17 points for Morovis.
Although the Montaneras concluded the fourth quarter with a 20-9 lead, it was not enough to take the victory.
The BSNF action will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, between the Pollitas de Isabela and the Explosivas de Moca at the Dr. Juan Sanchez Acevedo Coliseum, at 8:00 pm
