The new life of Christian reggaeton players: “The dancing is over, the party is over”

After dominating the world’s stages as reggaeton artists and earning millions of dollars highlighting the violence of the streets, drugs and sex in their songs, now, almost a dozen of them are dedicated to spreading the message of the Gospel as Christian leaders in Puerto Rico .

Daddy Yankee, Hector ‘El Father’, Farruko, Julio Voltio and Gocho They are some of those artists who turned reggaeton into the most listened to musical rhythm in the world and who then decided to leave their careers and convert to Christianity, a process that several of them told EFE.

Volt, one of the most lively reggaeton artists due to his peculiar style of interpretation, abandoned music when it was suitable for releasing two albums simultaneously, one of reggaeton and the other of salsa. One day he heard ‘El Father’ preach and decided to emulate him and join him in his ministry.

Christ saved Voltio from suicide

“I changed the platforms. I no longer have anything to do with Julio Voltio. The dancing is over, the ‘party’ is over. Now it is being in the presence of the Lord preaching the Word and telling all those young people that Christ is the solution,” said Julio Ramos, Voltio’s first name.
