The PNP would exceed 2,000 recusal requests in San Juan

As of April 30, New Progressive Party (PNP) in San Juan hopes to have exceeded 2,000 requests for recusal of voters filed with the State Election Commission (CEE), reported this Tuesday Angel Cintronmayor’s campaign manager Miguel Romerowho, in turn, denied that the process they are carrying out responds to an alleged “scheme” as alleged by the Citizen Victory Movement (MVC).

“It strikes me that a particular party reacts to this process because we have not seen this process with the eyes of a political party. We do not know the affiliation of these voters…“They project that they are defending their voters when that has not been our approach at any time.”Cintron argued at a press conference from the campaign committee of the mayor of San Juan.

“We are not challenging party electors. “We are challenging voters who apparently do not live where they say they live according to the electoral registry.”Cintron stressed.

Until this Monday, Cintron explained, the community had presented 984 challenges in Precinct 2 of San Juan. Of these, 381 have already been attended to and 326 have been awarded. Meanwhile, ten voters defended their domicile and prevailed. “The (applications) that were not awarded, many of them, either because the voter was deceased or because the voter had already made a transfer to another place”Cintron explained.
