The National Women’s Superior Basketball (BSNF) defined this Thursday the 24 players who will participate in the All-Star Game, which will be held this Saturday at the Jose “Buga” Abreu Coliseum, in Isabela.
Brianna Jones, Pamela Rosado, Tayra Melendez, Shae Helley and Rebecca Tobin will be the starters for Team North. Meanwhile, Jennifer O’Neill, Ariana Moreer, Natalie Day, Adrienne Godbold and Alexis Jennings will open for Team Isla.
The basketball players were selected through voting by members of the registered press and members of the eight teams registered in the tournament.
Ashley Torres, Nairimar Vargas, Selena Lott, Haela Hilaire, Teana Muldrow, Hatie Villarini and Jill Townsend will be the players who will complete the North Team.
On the other hand, Team Island will have Hillary Martinez, Jackie Benitez, Paola Maldonado, Naomi Hernandez, Jaelyn Penn, Dariauna Lewis and Madelyn Velazquez.
The North quintet will be directed by Miguel Toro, leader of the Atenienses and the Isla team will be commanded by Tony Ruiz, coach of the Ganaderas.
Tribute for Pamela Rosado
The clash of stars will be dedicated to point guard Rosado, who plays with the Montaneras de Morovis and is in her 19th season.
In 1999, the captain of the Montaneras began her career in the BSNF with the Pollitas de Isabela where at 13 years old she became the youngest player to participate in an All-Star Game that same season.
The also member of the Puerto Rico National Team is among the best 10 scorers this season with an average of 16.5 points per game and leads the average in assists with 9.8 per game.

The event will begin at 6:00 pm with the three-point competition, which will be attended by Madelyn Velazquez from the Ganaderas de Hatillo; Yaileen Quinones of the Pollitas de Isabela; Katie Villarini from the Montaneras de Morovis and Paola Maldonado from the Patriotas de Lares.
On the other hand, Megan Garcia from Las Pollitas de Isabela will participate in the skills competition; Maria Benitez and Naomi Hernandez from the Ganaderas of Hatillo and Kaela Hilaire from the Atenienses of Manati.
The All-Star game will begin at 8:00 pm, along with the broadcast on Telemundo.
