The Timbiriche art and design fair returns to the MAC with a fusion of art and movement

He Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico (MAC) opens its doors for a new edition of its traditional art and design fair Timbiriche which will take place from Friday the 15th to Sunday the 17th of December at its historic headquarters in Santurce. This edition coincides with the celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the prestigious contemporary dance company Andanza, which will present several of its recent choreographies.

Timbiriche highlights the MAC’s commitment to self-management and the promotion of artists and designers in the country. “The Timbiriche art and design fair is more than an event at the MAC; It is a manifestation of our mission to promote self-management and offer a favorable environment for the promotion of Puerto Rican artists and designers. Every year, this event becomes a meeting point for creativity and entrepreneurship, demonstrating the power of art as a driver of economic and cultural development in our community. We are proud to be hosts of a platform that not only celebrates art, but also drives the growth and visibility of our creatives,” explains Marianne Ramirez Aponte, executive director and chief curator of the MAC, in a press release.

According to the information, More than 90 artists and designers will meet in this edition with unique products of high artistic value made in Puerto Rico. This year, the fair is graced again with the presence of Andanza, celebrating its 25 years of experience in the field of contemporary dance in the country. Andanza’s performances will be a highlight of the event, demonstrating the company’s vitality and creativity through its most recent choreography.

Timbiriche attendees will have the opportunity to purchase unique Christmas gifts while enjoying a rich cultural offering. The MAC Store and other artists and designers will present their original works in an environment conducive to the exchange of ideas and the appreciation of art and creativity.

“This year we are not only celebrating the ingenuity and creativity of our local artists and designers, but also honoring 25 years of excellence in the art of dance with Andanza. Her journey is a testament to the vibrant and resilient spirit of Puerto Rican culture,” adds Ramirez Aponte.

The first of Andanza’s presentations at the MAC will be on Friday the 15th at 7:00 pm On Saturday the 16th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm there will be presentations by the Escuela de Andanza and, at 7:00 pm, the dance company will perform. The last of these presentations of Andanza at the MAC will be on Sunday the 17th at 6:00 pm

Admission to Timbiriche is free. The hours on Friday the 15th are from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. For admission to the Puerto Rico Negro exhibition, a donation of $6 per adult and $3 per child is suggested.
