The Vuelta Penolana will host the National Road Cycling Championship

The cycling event Penolana Tour -which will take place this coming Sunday starting at 1:30 in the afternoon- will host the National Road Cycling Championshipin which the best exponents of this sport will seek the champion’s jersey.

The event – which will start from the public square of Penuelas – replaces the competition that was to be held in the summer, but which had to be canceled due to problems in security logistics.

In the men’s branch, last year’s runner-up and 2022 and 2023 time trial champion will participate, Christopher Morales; and Elvis Reyes, who came third. The elite will also compete Abel Rosado and Dickson Vargas.

It is unknown if last year’s champion and member of the Spanish professional team Movistar, Abner Gonzalezwill come to defend his championship, reported Tony Chamorro, producer of the race.

The future of the Mocano athlete with the telephone team looks uncertain after his contract was not renewed. Gonzalez has just completed his participation in the Guangxi Tourin China, from October 12 to 17.

Among the elite women will be the time trial and road champion Erialis Otero, Donelys Carino and Marisol Tellado.

The men will travel 135 kilometers, while the women will travel 80 kilometers.
