Milwaukee- Carlos Rodon allowed just two hits and one run in six innings and the New York Yankees hit four home runs in a 15-3 victory on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Alex Verdugo hit a three-run home run in the first inning. Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo added two two-run homers and New York went up 11-1. This was Judge’s fifth home run of the season and Rizzo’s fourth.
Giancarlo Stanton had a three-run homer, his sixth, in the ninth off infielder Owen Weaver, who pitched the final two innings.
Rodon (2-1) allowed only a home run in the first inning to Rhys Hoskins and a double to Joey Ortiz to start the sixth. The 31-year-old left-hander struck out eight and walked one. Luke Weaver pitched two scoreless innings and Milwaukee got two runs in the ninth off catcher Jose Trevino, who was 11 of 18 for strikes.
New York had a season-high 15 runs and 19 hits to end a two-game losing streak.
For the Yankees, Dominican Juan Soto was 3-1 with two runs. Venezuelans Gleyber Torres 6-3 with three RBIs, Oswaldo Cabrera 1-5 with one RBI.
For the Brewers, Venezuelans William Contreras 2-0, Jackson Chourio 4-1. The Dominicans Willy Adames 3-0, Gary Sanchez 4-1 with one run scored and one RBI.
