The National Hurricane Center (NHC) monitors a tropical wave that currently has 30% development but it is unknown what effects it could have in the Caribbean region.

According to a special bulletin, the tropical wave remains hundreds of miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands and produces disorganized rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

“Slow development of this system is possible over the next few days, as it moves generally westward across the central to western tropical Atlantic at 15 to 20 miles per hour.”read the newsletter.

For her part, the meteorologist Yidiana Zayas of the National Meteorological Service (SNM) clarified that at the moment it is too early to determine what effects, if any, this phenomenon could have on Puerto Rico.

“The American model puts it to the south of us, however, the European (model) begins to pull it towards the north”the meteorologist explained.
