They raid the residence of a man who allegedly called the 9-1-1 Emergency Service more than 19,000 times

The authorities raided the residence of a man in Guayama which, presumably, made about 19,900 calls in a period of one year to the 9-1-1 Emergency Service.

According to a report from the Police, The man used interconnected calls, sometimes intertwining up to three communicators at a time, to keep the Emergency Service lines busy.

During the raid, in the E-17 building of the San Antonio Carioca residential complex in Guayama, Cell phones, computers, hard drives, documents and “all equipment capable of communicating with the 9-1-1 Emergency Service” were seized., reads the Police report. The intervention was directed by the Division of Investigations of Theft and Fraud of Banking, Financial and Cooperative Institutions in conjunction with agents of the Guayama Police.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was summoned to the Guayama Command for next Tuesday, September 12, at 9:00 am, to carry out a voice “line-up”, the Police reported.

If he is identified in the procedure, the relevant charges would be filed against him and he could face up to 10 years in prison.
