This was the emotional message that Daddy Yankee offered in his last concert “La Meta” about his new life in Christ

The global icon, Daddy Yankee concluded his long-awaited farewell tour with a spectacular show at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, marking the end of an era in music history. The last performance of the concert, called “La Meta” was a very emotional one, in which the creator of “Gasolina”, in addition to taking the audience on a nostalgic journey through his three decades of career, let them know the reasons why which he said goodbye to the stages.

The pioneering artist of the urban genre expressed: “My people, this day for me is the most important day of my life and I want to share it with you because living a life of success is not the same as a life with purpose. For a long time I tried to fill a void in my life that no one could fill, I tried to fill it and find meaning in my life. Sometimes I appeared to be very happy but something was missing to make me feel complete and I have to confess that those days are over. Someone was able to fill that void that I felt for a long time. I could realize that for everyone I was someone, but I was nothing without Him…”, said the well-known “Big Boss”, after having thrown the microphone after having delighted his audience with the energy and stage dominance that distinguishes him, over the course of more than two and a half hours of concert.

With a new microphone, as a symbol of being a new voice for Christ, he continued: “I was able to travel the world, win many awards, applause and praise, but I realized something that the Bible says: ‘What does it profit a man to win? the whole world if he loses his soul. That is why tonight I recognize and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for Him. The Bible says, everyone who recognizes Him in public here on earth will also recognize Him before my Father. Now anyone who knows me as Daddy Yankee should say, ‘Daddy Yankee in Christ, Raymond Ayala in Puerto Rico.’ A story is over and a new story is going to begin, a new beginning. All the tools that I have in my power, like music, social networks, platforms, a microphone, everything that Jesus gave me, is now for the kingdom.”

Likewise, in his message he thanked the land where he was born and where he lives, while urging the public not to follow him, but to accompany him in this new beginning.

“Thank you very much Puerto Rico and I hope that you walk with me in this new beginning and I hope that something very important is recorded in you: Do not follow any man. I am a human; To all the people who followed me, follow Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life. Thank you so much, God bless you. Christ loves you and Christ is coming, do not forget it. God bless you. Merry Christmas. I love you, Puerto Rico,” he said.

As he raised his face to heaven, in clear reference to the fact that he was addressing God, he asked: “And that in the same way Jesus, as you allowed me through your mercy, to travel the world, in your mercy father, may you allow me from Puerto Rico to evangelize the world. Amen, Thank you Jesus, Raymond Ayala. I love you, Puerto Rico. We reached the goal, amen!he concluded.

To complete the experience, the thousands of fans who gathered had the opportunity, upon leaving the so-called “Choliseo,” to witness a show of illuminated drones in the sky, which included several messages such as “Christ loves you” and “Cristo Comes”, in addition to the image of the Puerto Rican flag and other symbolism that characterized him throughout his musical career.
