“Today is a historic day”: unprecedented salaries are approved in the National Women’s Superior Basketball

Starting with the 2024 season Women’s National Superior Basketball (BSNF)which will begin on August 24, players will be able to receive a maximum stipend of up to $16,000, this as part of a series of amendments to the regulations that the league’s Board of Directors approved on Tuesday.

Likewise, basketball players not considered “elite”, according to a definition dictated by the Board, but who have participated with the National teamthey may receive a maximum of $8,000 in their first two seasons and from their third season onwards up to $10,000.

”Grateful to all the representatives for unanimously uniting and approving these amendments in favor of current players and future generations with these new salary caps”expressed the president of the BSNF, Luis Gabriel Miranda, after the determinations.

On the other hand, it was admitted that the natives who participated with teams from the National University Sports Association(NCAA, in English), Division I, will be able to earn a maximum stipend of $6,000 in their first season, $7,000 in their second and $8,000 from the third onwards.
