Trial against Law 60 beneficiary accused of defrauding Medicare would begin in January 2025

He Federal District Judge Michael E. Farbiarzof the Federal Court for the District of New Jerseypostponed until January 6, 2025 the trial against the beneficiary of Law 60 Raheel Ashraf Naviwalaformer resident of the state of Florida based in Puerto Rico accused of defrauding Medicare for $97 million.

“The trial of this matter will begin with jury selection on January 6, 2025. If that date presents a direct conflict with an already scheduled trial, the parties will inform the Court in a motion of no more than one page,” reads the order issued by the judge.

The parties in the case, meaning the defense and the federal Prosecutor’s Office, had until April 10 or before April 10 to submit the motion to explain if there was any reason why the trial should not begin in January 2025. From the court file It does not appear that the parties objected to the date.
