Two climate activists arrested for throwing paint on private planes in London

London — Two climate activists were arrested on Thursday after cutting a fence at an airport in London and spraying orange paint on private planes.

The two women were arrested in a Stansted airport private area London on suspicion of criminal damage and interference with the use or activity of national infrastructure, according to Essex Police.

The environmental group Just Stop Oil posted a video of a person cutting a security fence, followed by Images of a woman using a fire extinguisher to spray orange paint on at least two private planes.

An airport spokesman said the incident had occurred 3 miles from the main terminal and police said there was no threat to the public.
