Unit 2 of the Aguirre plant, in Salinas, went out of service on Wednesday night, a situation that keeps over 75,000 customers without electricityconfirmed the consortium Generate PR to The new day.

Ivan Baez, spokesperson for Genera PR, explained by telephone that personnel are investigating the reason why the unit went out of service. Genera PR reported, around 11:00 am, that the unit had returned to service after completing boiler repairs and that it would remain under a testing period.

“The departure of Aguirre unit 2, which had entered into service yesterday afternoon, was reported to have left, and after being repaired, it was stable, so we are investigating and waiting for the report to know (what) happened.” Baez explained.

For now, the service status portal of the consortium LUMA Energy indicates that more than 11,000 customers are without service in the Bayamon area. Meanwhile, over 16,000 subscribers do not have service in the San Juan area, and in Caguas, the figure is close to 17,000 clients.
