Urban flood warning issued for several municipalities around the island

The National Meteorological Service (SNM) issued warnings of urban and stream flooding – on Tuesday afternoon – for several municipalities in the metropolitan area after heavy rains associated with a trough that crosses the island.

At the moment, the municipalities under flood and stream warning are:

Aguada, Mocha and Rincon: until 7:45 p.m.

– Anasco, Lares and San Sebastian: until 7:15 p.m.

– Canovanas, Carolina, Loiza and Trujillo Alto: until 7:00 p.m.

– Bayamon and Guaynabo: until 6:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, Adjuntas, Ciales, Utuado and Jayuya were under a warning that expired 5:30 p.m.

Earlier, the SNM had warned about another round of heavy rain on Tuesday afternoon for areas of the interior, east and southeast of Puerto Rico.

In a statement this morning, the agency had warned that “dangerous weather” is expected for the eastern half of the island where heavy downpours and thunderstorms will be recorded.
