Variable day for Puerto Rico on Friday, with rain and dust from the Sahara

A varied day for Puerto Rico this Friday forecast the National Weather Service (SNM), while the tropical wave that affected the region on Thursday is slowly retreating, leaving a wide field of residual humidity over the island that continues to cause scattered rains during the morning in the eastern area.

However, a mass of dry air associated with a dense cloud of particulate matter Sahara desert dust will be filtered and will limit the development of showers during the afternoon, while promising a hot day. For this reason, the meteorological agency maintains a Heat warning for Puerto Rico for Friday from 10:00 am until late afternoon.

“Today is going to be a very mixed day. We still have residual moisture from the tropical wave that passed through our region yesterday, although most of yesterday’s rain stayed on the waters. Today, most of the rain is still staying in the Atlantic waters while interacting with a disturbance. However, some of these rains and thunderstorms are entering the northeast area.“, he explained Cecille Villanuevaa meteorologist at the SNM, in San Juan.
