Victories for Aguada and Quebradillas in the BSN day

The Santeros de Aguada and the Piratas de Quebradillas maintained their respective qualifying positions for the postseason of the National Superior Basketball (BSN) with victories during the day on Saturday.

At the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, John Meeks scored 24 points for the Santeros to beat the eliminated Vaqueros, 82-76.

Aguada won his seventh game in the last eight meetings. They are third in Section A at 16-17.

Ivan Gandia and Sheldon Mac scored 17 points each.

The Cowboys, who have accumulated seven consecutive losses, had Kyle Rose as their best scorer, scoring 17 points.

Prior to the game, the Vaqueros retired former player Luis Brignoni’s number 7. He played nine of his 15 seasons with Bayamon, winning four consecutive championships in 1972 and 1975.

At the Raymond Dalmau Coliseum, Phillip Wheeler was the best with 21 points and Emmanuel Mudiay followed him with 20 for the Pirates to beat the Capitanes of Arecibo, 83-73.
