WIPR will broadcast coverage of the Dominican Republic elections

In what is considered an important and historic collaborative agreement in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, It was announced that the Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPRDP) and the State Radio and Television Corporation (CERTV), of the sister island, joined forces to bring coverage of the election process that will take place on May 19, 2024 in the neighboring country.

“This Sunday, the Dominican people will exercise their right to vote and we reached an agreement with the public station to inform the Dominican community living in Puerto Rico of this entire election process”, indicated Jorge Pagan Pagan, president of the CPRDP. As announced, that day the coverage will begin at 7:00 am, while starting May 15 there will be live interventions in the 6:00 pm edition of Notisies on WIPR Channel 6.

“This collaboration is one of historical character, since It is the first time that both public stations have joined forces to broadcast election coverage. and thus keep the Dominican community residing in Puerto Rico informed first-hand. Likewise, on November 5 we will be sharing our coverage on the island with them.”Pagan noted. “It is important to highlight that, in addition to this collaborative alliance, we will have an exchange of cultural, educational and informative programming that will be part of the programming of both stations. This includes a daily news edition from the Dominican Republic, making this agreement very valuable.”.
