With 47 points from Jalen Brunson, the Knicks put the 76ers in check

Philadelphia — Jalen Brunson scored 47 points, added 10 assists and the New York Knicks They beat the 97-92 on Sunday Philadelphia 76ers to take a 3-1 lead in the first-round playoff series.

OG Anunoby added 16 points and 14 rebounds, largely defending Joel Embiid in the fourth quarter as the Knicks approached victory and were close to reaching the Eastern Conference semifinals for the second consecutive year.

The second-seeded Knicks would do it with a home win Tuesday night.

Embiid played the entire second half after sitting the first half, as the 76ers struggled. But the star center, who has been dealing with ongoing problems with his surgically repaired left knee, which appeared to suffer after a dunk in Game 1 and who was recently diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, was unable to score in the fourth quarter.
