The public who met the Puerto Rican actor and comedian Luis Antonio Rivera, known as “Yoyo Boing” through the small screen, will be able to say goodbye to one of the pillars of Puerto Rican television, next Wednesday, December 6, at the Buxeda Funeral Home, in San Juan.

The remains of the multifaceted artist, who died on November 30 at the age of 93 at the Hospital del Maestro in San Juan, will be displayed starting at 1:00 pm, in a wake open to the public to honor his life and legacy. of the actor.

Yoyo Boing underwent surgery for a heart condition in February 2017 and in 2020 suffered a Ischemic stroke, which caused a slight pause in the media. Although it affected him physically, he continued receiving therapies. Yoyo Boing was the father of 7 children, and had 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The radio presenter started with the boots, since this year he worked in several WIPR productions on channel 6 and on the radio station WIPR 940 am.

Rivera, born on April 9, 1930, in Humacao, but who grew up in Santurce from the age of three, selected the nickname “Yoyo Boing” after a search for names for a radio personality.

His talent led him to present shows at festivals around Puerto Rico along with Paquito Cordero, Tito Lara and others, sponsored by Del Monte products.

He stood out in multiple facets in communications and the arts by being able to act in theater, film and television, he was general manager of various radio stations and even wrote a book of jokes.
